President Don Carson introduced Board Member David Murphy who graciously shared his knowledge and expertise about Raspberry Pi which is a low cost credit card size computer.  David spoke about how     Raspberry Pi devices seamlessly connect to the Internet of Things and gave an example of medical devices used to monitor heart rate, pulse, etc.

A very interesting “show and tell” was displayed on the table in front of the room so attendees could actually touch and see a Raspberry Pi.  David also explained how he is working with local middle school students enrolled in the STEM (Science, Technical Engineering and Math) to actually build a device and then learn coding which can open doors to their future development.  He cited a self driving shoe box size car and a robot.  Interesting stuff!
