There were 34 members/guests in attendance.
A motion to approve the agenda was made by Jack Saunders, seconded by John Cataldo and passed.
Don introduced Board Member David Murphy who graciously shared his knowledge and expertise about Raspberry Pi which is a low cost credit card size computer. David spoke about how Raspberry Pi devices seamlessly connect to the Internet of Things and gave an example of medical devices used to monitor heart rate, pulse, etc.
A very interesting “show and tell” was displayed on the table in front of the room so attendees could actually touch and see a Raspberry Pi. David also explained how he is working with local middle school students enrolled in STEM (Science, Technical Engineering and Math) to actually build a device and then learn coding which can open doors to their future development. He cited a self driving shoe box size car and a robot. Interesting stuff!
We provided some committee updates which are elsewhere in the Bulletin. Attendees were reminded of the Annual Shred Day scheduled for April 25, 2020 at the RWVFD fire station on Lizard Creek Road.
During audience comments we had someone ask for an Identity Theft presentation since she was recently victimized. We also had a new member talk about their personal efforts to pick up trash on the roadway near their home We all agreed this was a great idea.
Those is attendance had no further questions and the meeting was adjourned at 10:55 AM.
